"I Went In (Headfirst)."
Inspired by an image I saw within an evening sunset, this abstract landscape-portrait-hybrid depicts the courage it takes to tackle one's problems and face yourself head on.

Abstract Landscape Digital Art Piece created by Mtende Moyo titled I went In Headfirst
"Please, Wake Up."
This piece is an illustration of both the physical and mental state I currently find myself in, with the two worlds meeting in an abstraction of my room. When difficulties arise, it can be easy to push out the positivity around you and search for methods of escape that end up becoming self-destructive. Rather than a work of suffering, I find it's important to highlight the importance of self-awareness, support, and reflection. Sometimes, the “monster” under your bed is your own mind.

"Tethered"

Created using warped letters of my name, I've always tended to Imagine the human soul as ever present, constantly swirling lines of energy.

"Garden of Thought"
This self portrait was made to commemorate artwork to come. Intended to visualize the way seemingly entire creative universes can co-exist within even one mind, each background element placed is intended to be part of an eventual series of works, referencing future artworks that will, in turn, call back to this current one as if it was the "brain."

"The Terminal"
Exploring the difficulty of isolation and change, “The Terminal” is inspired by my experience moving home locations unexpectedly while going to school elsewhere. Hanging off the ledge, I depict myself as in the center of a möbius strip of mood swings and self destruction.

"I'm Here, I'm Everywhere"
With weaving lines of symmetry, I wanted to visualize what I imagine a nature spirit looks like when I close my eyes. Using the shapes and silhouettes I saw within branches as a starting point, the creature itself is made up of various animals and plant-like assemblages, in the center as a hypnotic, omnipresent force.

"Cabin 31"
This painting is a commemoration of my time spent as a summer counselor and photographer, and the joy of friendship and connection (...and texture).

Psionic Academy (Psicad) is a future, personal comic passion project I'm currently developing in my spare time. Below are various original conceptual artworks, posters, and character based pieces inspired by the story.
"Psicad Posters"

These concept posters encapsulate the general feel of my longtime passion project. With various characters placed throughout the composition of the first piece in particular, as well distinct, memorable colorways, the project hints at covering deeper subject matter and concepts despite the colorful deposition at first glance.

"Ophelia - Portrait B"

This character portrait is a test of the previous color palettes intermixed with stippling used instead of flat shading. Visually, I aim to illustrate action based scenes with this particular stylization.

"The Edge of Destiny"
As if out of a vision, this work shows a girl reaching out towards herself in a state of self-actualization. While there will always be obstacles, I want audiences to see that the complexities of the mind and self are what make us as people so nuanced and beautiful.

"Destiny - Portrait A"

This character portrait highlights the stylistic direction I aim to go for when not in scenes where a more limited color palette would prove effective.

"Wilted, Waning"

In a nightmarish vision, my character Heph finds himself rooted into the ground as if he were a plant, with his very skin melting and breaking apart into string as he remains immobile.
