"Mind Map"
My “Mind Map" series is a 6ft long autobiographical reflection of all the places I’ve lived and how they’ve changed me. Through a collage of reflective pieces, the work is a deeply personal exploration of how place and memory coincide and overlap not just with emotion, but with each other. Individually, each piece displays both physical and mental environments of locations I’ve called home in abstract, dream-like settings that evoke a sense of transformation. However, when put together, they detail the journey of growing up in digital spaces and learning to face the “real world” through themes of escapism, emotional intimacy, and self-discovery.
"Digital Scrapbook"
Inspired by physical collages, I've begun making a digital scrapbook to attempt to mix art and memory in the cartoon-y way that I tend to reminisce on happy moments within my head. Mixing photography, illustration, and occasional elements of type, these files of memories draw me back to both the moment I experienced these moments in life, the moment I created them, as well as the messy, but heartfelt, cutouts that I would make when I was a child.
